The Product Brief
The Product Brief is a document that we deem critical to the success of any new product development. It gathers all the necessary product information in one place, and serves as a working document that can be used by both you, and your cut and sew manufacturer.
An example of a product brief can be found below. This also includes examples of the type of information a manufacturer might be looking for. It should be filled out to the best of your ability (the more information you can provide, the better), and is designed to stretch your imagination, while prompting you to do some research that will set the stage for an effective product launch. Additionally, there may be potions of this that aren’t relevant to your specific project. In that case, leave that portion blank. You can also download a clean version from our “Free Resources” library.
At HBI, we use this to guide for initial project discussions. We ask that customers do their best to arrive at our first meeting with the document completed to the best of their ability. In the end, this will save time and money, all while setting the stage for productive, early product development meetings.
