An important part of any new product development is gaining a true understaing of the materials that will be used, how they will function and interact with one another, as well as how they will support the overall product design and asthetic. It takes experience to determine the best overall solution and hence the best possible outcome.

HBI is proud to partner with award winning bag designer, Jennifer Smail who is now offering initial design consultation. This may be for those ready to initiate a new leather goods product development project, or, someone just starting down of concepualizing a new bag or accessory.

Jennifer founded Custom Bag Fitters and has spent years making custom bags. During this time, she made over 1000 custom designed bags. Today, she runs Cuddigan Leather, an American Made leather goods company focused on luxury bags. In addition, she runs HBI’s New Product Development House in Maple Lake, MN.
